Akari, the country’s top lighting and technology brand, will renew its support to the Adamson University (AdU) men’s basketbell team as they aim to soar higher in the UAAP Season 79. With the guidance of new head coach Franz Pumaren, the AdU basketball team is predicted to be the dark horse among the competitive participating universities of UAAP.
“We remain steadfast in backing up the AdU basketball team in their quest for a UAAP championship,” said Russell Balbacal, Akari Lighting and Technology sports director. “Coach Franz Pumaren is a multi-titled coach and seasoned basketball player. We trust that he has prepared the AdU basketball team both physically and mentally.” Akari and AdU’s confidence in Franz Pumaren can be owed to his stellar credentials both in the collegiate and pro ranks.
This is the third year that Akari is supporting Adamson’s basketball and volleyball teams as part of the brand’s youth development and sports program. Other than the UAAP, Akari also supports the university’s scholarship projects to reinforce the company’s commitment to education.
